BJP leader shot dead in Jharkhand

Bharatiya Janata Party Ranchi, March 20 (IANS) A local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was shot dead by unidentified criminals in Khuti district of Jharkhand Friday, police said.
Mahendra Mahto, president of the BJP youth wing in Khuti, 80 km from Ranchi, was shot by three men on two motorcycles when he was going to drop his son to school.

Mahto was rushed to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) in Ranchi but died three hours later.

“No rule of law exists in the state. The law and order condition is worsening day by day under President’s rule,” C.P. Singh, a BJP legislator from Ranchi, told reporters.

The supporters of the slain BJP leader blocked the Ranchi-Khuti highway demanding the arrest of the killers.
