Bharatiya Janata Party New Delhi, Jan 5 (IANS) A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) delegation led by party leader L.K. Advani met President Pratibha Patil Thursday to discuss the Lokpal bill.

Party president Nitin Gadkari, leaders of the two houses in parliament Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley, former party president Rajnath Singh as well as M. Venkaiah Naidu, Ananth Kumar, S.S. Ahluwalia and Ravi Shankar Prasad were amongst those who went to the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The party will raise the issue of the Lokpal bill not being passed in parliament and seek the president’s intervention.

The Lokpal bill could not be passed by parliament even after a three-day extension of the winter session. The Rajya Sabha was adjourned midnight Dec 29 without passing it.

The BJP has termed this the “murder of democracy”, blaming the Congress for intentionally delaying the process.
