BJP awaits white paper on railways

New Delhi, July 11 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Saturday said the country was awaiting the white paper promised by Railways Minister Mamata Banerjee on the railways’ performance in the last five years.
Banerjee told parliament July 3 that she would come out with a white paper on the actual performance of the railways in the past five years when Lalu Prasad headed the ministry.
“We were made to believe … at least in the last five years the railways have achieved what no one had achieved,” BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy said here.
“After attending the G-8 summit in Italy, the prime minister had said that the white paper will uncover the reality. It vindicates the BJP’s stand that there has been financial jugglery in the railways,” Rudy added.
