Hawaii, Apr 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Arizona House has pushed the Birther Bill further. The bill is an amendment to the already existing one that changed the way the names of the Presidential candidates appeared in the ballot. The Birther Bill requires that all the candidates in the Presidential race submit a proof of their ages, which would be verified by the secretary of state of Arizona. The Arizona House, which has advanced the bill, has come under considerable fire regarding the matter. In order to be passed, the bill will now have to gain the approval of the State Senate, and finally will reach the Governor, who will sign it, officially turning it into law.
As was expected, the Birther Bill got passed in the Arizona House, thanks to the Republicans, 31 of whom gave a nod to the bill. It does not come as a surprise, considering that the idea of the bill had originated from the contentions regarding President Barack Obama’s eligibility as a president, as many allege that he is not an American by nationality. Thus, naturally, the Republicans voted in favor of the bill, as they had been the principal propagators of this theory. The Health Department of Hawaii prompted the legislation in order to put an end to the requests regarding a check into the nationality of the American President.
The Democrats in the Arizona House of Representatives, needless to say, are not particularly happy with the situation. Most of them feel that it is yet another measure that is going to make the House of Representatives as a butt of all jokes for the nation, a position that is pretty strong by now, thanks to all the legislative measures that have been taken.
