Bihar to set up panel for upper caste poor
January 27th, 2011 - 10:50 pm ICT by IANSPatna, Jan 27 (IANS) Keeping his election promise, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has approved setting up of a commission for the poor among the upper castes.The state cabinet in its meeting chaired by Nitish Kumar Thursday approved the setting up of a commission to study the problems faced by the upper caste poor.
“The state cabinet has approved the government decision to constitute a commission for the poor among the upper castes,” an official told IANS.
During campaigning for the state assembly elections, Nitish Kumar promised to set up a commission to study the problems faced by the upper caste poor and launch welfare schemes for them if his Janata Dal-United (JD-U) party was voted back to power.
