Better late than never: PM on decision to drop Tytler, SajjanApril 10th, 2009 - 8:31 pm ICT by IANS
New Delhi, April 10 (IANS) A day after Congress withdrew the candidatures of Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Friday said his party is sensitive to the feelings of the Sikh community.
“That the decisions have been reversed shows the sensitivity of the Congress party to the Sikh community. Der aaye durust aaye (Better late than never), therefore compliment the Congress party,” Manmohan Singh told women reporters in an interaction at a five-star hotel here.
Manmohan Singh also denied the charges that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) report was manipulated in favour of Jagdish Tytler.
“Any charged that we have manipulated CBI report is totally false.”
