Berlusconi has right hand surgery
July 29th, 2011 - 8:41 pm ICT by IANSMilan, July 29 (IANS/AKI) Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi Friday underwent surgery on his right hand to treat carpal tunnel syndrome.
The 74-year-old leader’s 10-minute operation “went very well” and he is expected to regain full use of his hand in around 10 days, said Alberto Lazzerini who oversaw the surgery.
The carpal tunnel syndrome is a stress-related condition in hands, wrists and fingers, where victims suffer from numbness, tingling, weakness, or muscle damage due to excessive work on keyboards, mouse and text messaging on mobile phones.
Berlusconi’s left hand was operated on in October last year.
