Washington, Sep 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The health care changes proposed by the Obama administration are going to become effective from tomorrow. The changes will put an end to the insurance industry trend of excluding the children with pre-existing health syndromes from coverage.
The landmark health care reform law will make 30 million Americans eligible for insurance coverage, as the latest reports suggests. However, it will take nearly 4 hours to implement the major changes proposed in the reform bill. By 2014, the health care law will make it necessary for the Americans to have a health insurance policy. The law also says that the insurance companies will not be able to deny insurance to the applicants if they have pre-existing medical conditions. The Democrats are of the view that the bill will introduce some hitherto unheard of benefits to the consumers.
However, a lot of people would not be able to obtain the advantages of the reforms until January next year even though the changes will go into effect tomorrow. The new rules have also made some of the existing policy holders confused and they are saying that the insurance companies are not clear on certain issues. A number of them are not sure if they will dump their existing policies or not. Needless to say the Obama administration is betting big time on the health care reforms to woo the voters, with the election season knocking at the doors.
The Democrats are anticipating hard times ahead and that is why they are touting the health care bill as their biggest weapon. It will be used during the campaigns as major weapon against the Republicans.
