Barack Obama to offer more child care credit
January 26th, 2010 - 10:28 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattWashington DC, Jan 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The US President Barack Obama has announced that he hopes to double the child care tax credits for those families, who have an annual income less than $85,000. He said that he would also limit the student loan repayment, as well as offer higher credits to those people who are looking after an aging parent. He also revealed that some additional funding would be kept aside to help the families to get the childcare.
He said that, “We … need to reverse the overall erosion in middle class security so that when this economy does come back, working Americans are free to pursue their dreams again,” Obama said. These announcements were made on Monday, and President Obama said that he will certainly focus now to help the middle class families try to get some sort of financial stability, as they have suffered the most, in the last decade.
Gillibrand said that the middle class Americans also need an extension of the unemployment insurance benefits. He also stressed that the COBRA program needs an extension as it helps the jobless Americans pay for their health care.” We need to make sure we’re providing assistance for those hit hardest by this recession,” Gillibrand said.
