Barack Obama all set to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Irish Prime Minister

Washington DC, Feb 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) US President Barack Obama is all set to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the Prime Minister of Ireland – Brian Cowen. The White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs confirmed this news. He said on Friday, that the Prime Minister of Ireland Brian Cowen would be present at the White House, to celebrate the holiday. Apparently the US President Barack Obama has invited Brian Cowen, as he appreciates Cowen’s work with the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
Whitehouse spokesman Robert Gibbs also said that the celebration on March 17 is a reminder of the relationship between the US and Ireland. He said in an official release that, “The United States and Ireland share strong bilateral relations, deep cultural ties, and a commitment to positive change in the world. The President appreciates the personal contributions and steadfast support of the Taoiseach and U.K. Prime Minister Gordon Brown in support of the historic agreement achieved by Northern Ireland leaders today, which is an important step on the pathway to greater peace and prosperity for all communities on the island.”
On St. Patrick’s Day, the US President Barack Obama would welcome the Prime Minister of Ireland Brian Cowen, along with the First Minister Peter Robinson, and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness of Northern Ireland at the White House. Then they all would discuss their progress towards their common goals and commitments.
