Baalu must resign: AdvaniApril 29th, 2008 - 6:37 pm ICT by admin
New Delhi, April 29 (IANS) Terming the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government as “the most corrupt”, Leader of Opposition L.K Advani Tuesday demanded the resignation of Shipping and Transport Minister T.R. Baalu. Addressing a meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs, Advani described the UPA government as the “most corrupt”. Quoting Advani, a BJP spokesperson said: “It is a government of tainted ministers. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh needs to come clean on the issue. T.R. Baalu should resign.”
His comments came after the BJP stalled proceedings in both houses of parliament for two consecutive days following Baalu’s admission that he had misused his position to expedite gas allocation to companies run by his sons.
The BJP has put both Baalu, who is from the DMK party, and Manmohan Singh in the dock. The DMK’s archrival in Tamil Nadu AIADMK has also teamed up with the BJP to corner Baalu.
