Assam governor slips, fractures leg, arm
November 8th, 2010 - 7:22 pm ICT by IANSGuwahati, Nov 8 (IANS) Assam Governor Janaki Ballabh Patnaik Monday slipped and fell down in bathroom and fractured his leg and arm, besides suffering injuries to his back, doctors said.
Patnaik, 77, was on an official visit to the eastern tea town of Dibrugarh when the incident took place at a circuit house.
“The governor slipped and fell down in the bathroom and X-ray reports revealed he fractured his leg and an arm. His condition is stable,” D.K. Patgiri, principal of Assam Medical College and Hospital in Dibrugarh, told IANS.
“The governor might have to undergo a surgery,” Patgiri said.
