jana Phoenix, Jun 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The governor of Arizona - Jan Brewer has been highly criticized for her comments about illegal immigrants from the Mexican border.

Senator John McCain said he disagreed with the governor’s statement. He however said he believed the governor was doing a great job in protecting her state.

Jan Brewer said drug cartels in Mexico were using illegal immigrants as drug “mules”. The office of the governor later said that most of the illegal immigrants who come to Arizona do so, for the drug cartels.

Arizona has been in the news after some tougher immigration measures that they say would help curb the influx of illegal migrants mostly from Mexico. The state officials say they are using the measures to stop crime and violence, which has been on the rise in the state. However, critics of the new immigration law say that the law would lead to racial segregation in the state.

The law came into force at the end of May, and most Mexicans have fled the State after the law came into force. Arizona has been highly criticized for the law by most people and institutions. Some states and cities have even barred any form of relationship with the State.
