Argentine governor ‘accidentally’ killed by gunshot
January 2nd, 2012 - 8:31 am ICT by IANSLondon, Jan 2 (IANS) A provincial governor in Argentina has died of a gunshot at home while celebrating the new year with family.
According to the police, Carlos Soria, the Rio Negro governor, was with his wife when he got killed around 08.00 GMT, the BBC reported. He had sworn in as a governor just a few weeks ago and had been elected in Rio Negro by a wide margin.
Vice-governor Alberto Weretilneck termed it a “domestic accident”.
As per local media reports, Soria’s wife Susana Freidos is being questioned by police.
