Anna’s arrest reminds of Emergency: Naveen Patnaik
August 16th, 2011 - 11:17 pm ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, Aug 16 (IANS) Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Tuesday said the arrest of social activist Anna Hazare in New Delhi reminded him of the 1975-77 Emergency.
“The central government should not have arrested Anna Hazare who wanted to hold a peaceful protest,” Patnaik told reporters.
“This sort of incidence reminds one about what used to happen in the Emergency,” he added.
Hazare was arrested by Delhi Police as he was about to set out for his fast in support of a strong Lokpal Bill.
