Angry RJD activists burn effigy of Lalu Prasad
September 25th, 2010 - 5:07 pm ICT by IANSPatna, Sep 25 (IANS) Youth activists of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), angered at being neglected in the distribution of tickets for the coming assembly polls, Saturday burnt an effigy of party chief Lalu Prasad.
Burning the effigy in front of the party office here and shouting slogans against Lalu Prasad, they threatened to work against the RJD in elections if they were not given tickets to contest the polls.
The RJD is facing a tough time for the last two weeks as dozens of party leaders have deserted and joined the ruling Janata Dal (United) and the Congress.
Lalu Prasad was in New Delhi Saturday to discuss and finalise the joint manifesto of RJD-Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) for the elections.
The party is yet to declare its list of candidates.
