Mississippi, Nov 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Voters in Mississippi will be given the opportunity to define who can be classified as a person. Pro-life and pro-abortion groups have often argued about whether a zygote should be considered human being or not.

In the first of its kind, Mississippi plans to introduce the personhood law which will define who a person is. The law proposes that a fertilized egg should be considered human. If voters agree with the law, the new measure will outlaw abortion and make the act a murder offense.

Voters at Mississippi will vote on Proposition 26 which is sponsored by anti-abortion groups in the state. Abortion groups are expected to challenge the law to the Supreme Court if it is passed in the state elections. Proponents of the law are excited and say they it will ban abortion in the state.

Opponents, health officials and law experts warn that the new law will make it illegal to use certain forms of contraception as well. When the egg is fertilized by the sperm, the resultant product is called the zygote and it finally develops to form the baby.

The debate will be centered on how what could be considered an outlawed contraception and legal one.
