All set for counting of votes in Jharkhand
December 22nd, 2009 - 7:39 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Ranchi, Dec 22 (IANS) The Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements to ensure speedy counting of votes cast in the recently concluded Jharkhand assembly elections, an official said Tuesday.
“We have made elaborate arrangements for counting of votes in the districts. Adequate security forces will be deployed during counting,” joint chief electoral officer (CEO) Ashok Kumar Sinha told IANS.
The five-phase poll to the 81-member Jharkhand assembly was held between Nov 25 and Dec 18. A total of 1,511 candidates were in the fray and a 58 percent voter turnout was recorded.
