New Delhi, Aug 22 (IANS) Law Minister Salman Khurshid Monday expressed hope that a solution will be found to the situation created by social activist Anna Hazare’s fast for a strong Lokpal bill and urged all parties to work earnestly to find a way out.

“Discussions should be held. People and the parliamentary standing committee will look at both versions (the government bill and Jan Lokpal bill). Some way out will be found,” Khurshid said here.

He said all political parties, including those in the opposition, should make an effort to find a solution.

“A solution can be found. Everybody should make an earnest effort to find a solution,” he said.

In a reference to crowds Sunday at Ramlila Maidan, where Hazare is on an indefinite fast, Khurshid said “one-two lakh people” coming together was important but not something that leads the nation.

“What crores of people in the country want can come out through elections,” he said.

Science and Technology Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh said efforts were being made to find a solution to end Hazare’s fast.

“Things are on the right track,” he said.

Hazare’s fast for a strong anti-corruption bill entered the seventh day Monday as thousands of supporters continued to throng the Ramlila ground in the capital.
