Brothers Churchill and Joaquim Alemao, who were cabinet ministers, were defeated in Navelim and Cuncolim respectively — to Avertano Furtado (independent) and Rajan Naik (BJP).
Churchill Alemao’s daughter Valanka lost in Benaulim to Caitu Fernandes of Goa Vikas Party (GVP).
Joaquim Alemao’s son Yuri lost in Sanguem to Bharatiya Janata Party’s Subhash Phaldesai.
