pot September 10, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): News of an aide of the US Senator Barbara Boxer trying to sneak pot into the office building of the senate has shocked the nation. The aide has resigned after being apprehended by the U.S. Capitol police while trying to hide a green leafy substance in his pocket.

Marcus M. Stanley, the person in question was undergoing a security check before entering the office building. The police apprehended and later arrested him after the green substance found on him tested positive for the drug. A chemical compounded usually found in pot was reportedly isolated from the green leafy substance.

Zachary Coile, the spokesperson for Barbara Boxer sated that the 43 year old Stanley was no loger with the office. The aide had been attached to the office since 2007. Coile went on to say that he had handed in his resignation which the Senator accepted simply because what Stanley did was wrong and illegal.

Boxer is currently running for her fourth term of the Senate. Her closest political rival is the Republican candidate Carly Fiorina who had formerly held the position of CEO for Hewlett-Packard. Both of them are known for their staunch stand against the legalising of Cannabis in the state of California.

The story was first leaked by the website Politico.com. Sgt. Kimberly Schneider of the U.S. Capitol police confirmed the arrest of Marcus M. Stanley on Wednesday. He will now have to face misdemeanor charges for trying to bring in Marijuana. Legistorm.com went on to report that Stanley had drawn a six figure salary.
