- Chennai, June 18 (IANS) Tamil actor-turned-AIADMK legislator S.Ve. Shekhar, who has been sidelined by the party in the recent months, Thursday said he is mulling an outfit to demand reservation for Brahmins.
“I don’t know the reason for the party high command’s bitterness towards me. Now it is like a crack in a glass pane and cannot be covered. I may start a party to demand reservation for the Brahmin community,” Shekhar told reporters.
Shekhar said he is not invited to party meetings and his 16 letters to AIADMK high command remain unanswered.
On Wednesday, Shekhar was heckled by AIADMK legislators when he congratulated DMK’s M.K. Stalin on his elevation as deputy chief minister. He remained in the house while fellow party members walked out.
Expressing his views against walking out of the assembly, Shekhar said: “It is a treachery on our electors. Even today (Thursday) I participated in assembly proceedings.”
