AGP chief loses in Assam
May 13th, 2011 - 2:56 pm ICT by IANSGuwahati, May 13 (IANS) In a major upset, president of Assam’s main opposition Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) Chandra Mohan Patowary was Friday defeated by his Congress rival in the assembly polls.
Patowary lost to Congress candidate Nilomoni Sen Deka by 5,353 votes from Dharmapur constituency in Nalbari district.
Polls to the 126-member Assam assembly were held April 4 and 11.
