Hisar (Haryana), Nov 12 (IANS) The cross-country Jan Chetna Yatra of senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani entered Haryana from Rajasthan Saturday.
Advani was greeted at Jhumpa village in the HIsar-Bhiwani area of Haryana-Rajasthan border by state BJP leaders and the Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) president and recently elected Hisar MP Kuldeep Bishnoi.
The entourage of the BJP leader headed for Hisar town with BJP supporters giving him a good reception at most places.
Advani, whose yatra was running three hours behind schedule, later left for Fatehabad town where he is scheduled to address a rally.
The BJP leader will go to Sira and some other parts of Haryana before entering Punjab Sunday.
In neighbouring Punjab, radical Sikh organizations have threatened to disrupt his yatra saying that the BJP had not stood by the Sikhs, especially the victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
The threat to disrupt the yatra has been given by Akali Dal-Amritsar leader Simranjit Singh Mann and the All India Sikh Students Federation.
Punjab has an alliance government of the Shiromani Akali Dal-Badal and the BJP for the last over four years.
