Bharatiya Janata Party New Delhi, April 14 (IANS) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani Tuesday decided not to attend a dinner hosted by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as a farewell for Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, party sources said.
“He is not going for the dinner tonight,” said a close aide of Advani, not wishing to be identified.

The top leadership of the Left parties including Communist Party of India-Marxist general secretary Praksh Karat and poliburo member Sitaram Yechury and Forward Bloc national secretary G. Devarajan were not attending the dinner either.

Earlier in the day, Advani and Manmohan Singh shared the platform during a function to mark the Ambedkar Jayanti but did not speak with each other.

In recent days, the two leading prime ministerial candidates have been exchanging strong words.
