Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 7 (IANS) Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan Thursday left for Kolkata to meet the ailing Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) patriarch Jyoti Basu - a close friend as well as a party colleague for many years.
Achuthanandan rushed to the airport after persuading the striking private bus owners that all their demands would be taken care of and prevailing on them to withdraw the three-day-old stir.
