Lucknow, June 16 (IANS) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani will launch his party’s campaign for the 2009 Lok Sabha election from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh June 27. Advani, who is also the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) prime ministerial candidate, will address a rally at the Phoolbagh Maidan in Kanpur, about 80 km from here, according to a statement issued by the party’s state unit.

Uttar Pradesh BJP president Ramapati Ram Tripathi reached Kanpur Monday to oversee the preparations for the rally. He will hold a meeting with over 3,500 party workers.
