11 Bangladesh’s opposition party activists killed in accident
April 18th, 2010 - 9:22 pm ICT by IANSDhaka, April 18 (DPA) At least 11 opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party activists were killed and dozens injured Sunday in a road accident in the southern district of Khulna, party officials said.
The accident occurred 200 km south-west of the capital Dhaka, when a truck collided head on with the bus carrying the activists to an anti-government rally in Khulna City.
Police said nine people were killed on the spot while two others succumbed to their injuries at Khulna Medical College Hospital.
Thirty-five others were being treated for injuries, they said.
