Melbourne, Sep 9 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Police have arrested two unidentified people at a McDonald’s restaurant after the men were spotted wrestling with a 1.5 meter long python at the restaurant’s parking lot. The men were arrested on Thursday.

Police say the men were arrested because they stole the python, named Boris, from a pet shop. Police say the men stole the python and a lizard from a pet shop on Wednesday. Boris is 8 years old.

The men who are aged 22 and 24 years were described by a police detective, Detective Sgt. Andrew Beams as “pretty dumb”. “In all honesty, it’s just a case of dumb and dumber. Anyone who gets out there with a one-and-a-half meter python in a McDonald’s car park — they’re pretty dumb,” according to Detective Sgt. Andrew Beams.

The python was returned to its owner, Jodie Graham of Totally Reptiles pet shop who was obviously relieved that Boris has been found. The owner says Boris was cold so he had to put it back to the tank to warm it up.

The snake, black headed python is native to northern Australia and they are not venomous. They kill mostly by constriction and they only bite when they are hunting for prey.
