Philadelphia, July 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Bob Russell’s car was stolen in 1970 and since then he had a faint glimmer of hope that one day he would get his car back, despite the fact that more than four decades had passed since the theft.

The car in question was an Austin-Healey and it was manufactured in 1967 and it was stolen from Bob’s apartment in Philadelphia. When the car was stolen outside Bob’s apartment at that point, he was on a date with his girlfriend. When he returned back home then he was horrified to find that his car was nowhere to be found.

He lodged a complaint with the police and since then he made it a personal mission to find his car.

Bob got lucky one day when he was surfing on the Internet and he found that his car was up for auction on eBay. It was owned by a LA car dealer and its bid value on the site was $19,700. Russell was overjoyed to find his car and he communicated with the LA based car dealer and told him in so many words that the dealer was infact selling Bob’s car.

The Philadelphia and the LA police then swung into action to recover his stolen car.
