Sanford Rothman Shoots Self While Sleepwalking
October 28th, 2010 - 9:21 pm ICT by Angela Kaye MasonOct 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A report from the Associated Press tells a story which may help to convince sleep-walkers to lock their guns and bullets up separately. Police state that a sixty-three year old man in Boulder, Colorado woke to the loud sound of a “bang” and saw that he had shot himself in the knee, in his sleep.
Sanford Rothman told the investigators that he did not remember shooting himself at all. He keeps a nine millimeter pistol near his bed, according to Boulder Police Sgt. Paul Reichenback. He was taking prescription pain medication, but there were no illegal drugs not alcohol involved. No one else was in the house at the time.
Rothman was treated in a local hospital and sent home…likely with more painkillers, and hopefully placed his gun in a safe place.
