Sally Davies Shows McDonald’s Happy Meal Doesn’t Rot

Oct 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Artist and photographer Sally Davies made a very disturbing point when she decided to set a Happy Meal from McDonalds out in her kitchen, to see and document what happened to it over time. But it wasn’t the decomposition which turned out to be so disturbing, but the lack thereof.

The Happy Meal set out for six months, and Sally photographed the meal everyday, posting the pictures to Flickr. “The only change that I can see is that it has become hard as a rock,” she told the ‘UK Daily Mail’.

Her work has become known as “The Happy Meal Art Project”. She explained her reason for the experiment, “I told my friend about a schoolteacher who’s kept a McDonald’s burger for 12 years that hasn’t changed at all, and he didn’t believe me when I told him about it,” Davies told us. “He thought I was crazy and said I shouldn’t believe everything that I read, so I decided to try it myself.”
