Robber decked in ‘Darth Vader’ outfit robs a bank

A man dressed like Darth Vader invaded the Setauket Chase Branch of the Long Island bank at 11:30 on Friday morning and yelled at the teller and other customers to hand over their money, insisting that it was no joke. The customers knew it was no joke when the man brandished his gun at them. He escaped the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.
According to the Daily News, Suffolk County police Detective Sgt. William Lamb said that, “The customer thought it might have been a joke and not a serious attempt at a robbery.”
Robbers are becoming interestingly innovative in their latest raids. For the last two weeks, robbers in New York have used various and diverse means to get money from the tellers of several banks.
A man the police called the ‘Bouquet Bandit’ recently robbed the bank holding a bouquet of flowers. He made away with an undisclosed amount of money. He used similar strategy in the past to rob several other banks. Police however arrested him on Wednesday.
Other high profile weird robberies that have happened recently involved a woman wearing a cat mask who robbed a Manhattan shoe store.
