Red Alinsod, Doctor of Ingrid Paulicivic Sued for Engraving Her name on Her Uterus
September 15th, 2010 - 1:35 am ICT by Angela Kaye MasonSep 14 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Gynaecologist Red Alinsod is being sued by his patient, Ingrid Paulicivic for branding her name on her uterus after removing it from her body. The doctor claimed that the strange action was just a “friendly gesture” since he and the female patient were “good friends”.
But the forty seven year old hairdresser and her husband were not happy at all with the doctor’s antics. She said that he did the branding for ‘no medically necessary purpose or reason’ and that she was burned on her legs while the uterus was being branded with a laser, according to her lawsuit.
The attorney for Ingrid, Devan Mullins called the bizarre work of Alinsod “inexcusably bizarre behavior”, and said that the doctor was “fooling around and having fun.” The doctor told ‘The Smoking Gun’ that he only did it so that he would not get her uterus confused with others, but admitted that he does not do this with other patients.
Ingrid and her husband, Joe first became aware of the odd carving when she went to a follow up visit and complained of burns on her legs. She asked to see the pictures of the operation being performed by the doctor, and was given about 50 photos of the surgery.
What she and her husband saw were pictures of the doctor carving her name into her uterus , 1 inch high and 5 inches long. There were also pictures of him holding it, and posing with it.Ingrid’s husband is also named in the suit, citing that he was “permanently injured and damaged’ because of the lack of intimacy between the couple as a result of the hysterectomy.”
