Seattle, Feb 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Not many robbers get to remember their manners when they are in the middle of a robbery but Gregory Hess did.

During a petrol station robbery, the 65-year-old continually called the owner ‘sir’ and never forgot to use ‘please’ when he wanted to address him. With the exception of the hand gun that he was brandishing, the CCTV footage wouldn’t have suggested that he was robbing the petrol station.

After buying a cup of coffee, he politely asked the owner, John Henry, to empty the till contents for him. Many people would have taken it as a joke because not many robbers get to say “Could you do me a favor – could you empty that till for me, please?”

John never actually fully figured what was going on because he asked Hess exactly that and why he was doing that. After using the ‘sir’ title to address John, he told him that he was robbing him because he had to feed his kids. He then apologized to him for doing it.

When John offered Hess $40, he declined insisting that he needed all the money in the till. Hess walked out of the shop with the $300 that was in the till and promised to return the money when he can afford it.

Well he was arrested and a judge will now determine how long he should be behind bars.
