Beijing, Dec 9 (THAINDIAN NEWS) About thirty pigs were left loose on a highway after the van that they were being transported in overturned. The police had to stop traffic at part of the road to ensure the safety of the animals and that of those who used the road. In the end, all the animals were returned back to a truck safely.

The driver of the van explained to the police that he lost control of the van when he moved to avoid hitting a car which had crossed him. A video of the scene show the animals walking around the highway while some of them also search the shoulders of the road for any food that they could find.

The police and volunteers had to help the drive get the animals back into the van. That was not an easy task as it took them more than an hour to get all the animals back into a truck. The other truck had to carry the pigs to its destination as the other truck was left on the road.

The incident happened in Shuangliu which is located in the Sichuan province of the country. A video of the incident has since been aired by several news channels.
