Ohio teacher accused of sleeping on job fired
November 12th, 2010 - 10:53 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattSandusky, Nov 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A teacher who is an inhabitant of Ohio was caught sleeping whereas she ought to be teaching in the class. And she wasn’t let off lightly for her offense. The school board decided that the apt punishment for her would be to fire her. They also took the extreme step after they learnt that she was also coming late to the class numerous times.
The teacher in question is Carol Smith and she is 71 years old. The Perkins district officials conducted an investigation in to the matter and they thought that it would be prudent to fire her. An official said that her deeds were “totally unprofessional”. The investigation officials also said that her actions very totally uncalled for and the safety of her students was also at risk.
According to reports, her students were having a whale of a time when she came late to the class. And when she was sleeping instead of teaching her students then the students enjoyed playing computer games. However in her defense, Carol said that she wasn’t late to class regularly and she completely denied that she had ever fallen asleep in the class.
