Englewood, Mar 31 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A town in New Jersey was covered in flour when a pipe in a bakery exploded. The explosion sent flour into the sky and it eventually settled on cars and houses.

A spokesperson for the bakery told reporters that flour lost through the accident was less than 10 bags. About 20,000 pounds of flour was being pumped at the time that the accident happened and thanks to the swift response of the bakery, the losses were minimized. The incident happened at the La Esperanza Bakery silo on Tuesday.

The acting Englewood Fire Chief, Gerald Marion, told reporters that the incident happened when a pipe at the top of the silo came loose. The pumped flour then escaped into the air covering everything it could when it came settling down. Marion said some people in the town thought that there has been an explosion at the silo.

Several homes and cars were coated with the flour that escaped from the silo. The pipe has since been fixed and operation has resumed at the silo. Cleaning has also taken place in the town to rid the town of the flour.
