Neighbors complain that a deaf couple is too loud
November 30th, 2011 - 7:44 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattBerlin, Nov 30 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A deaf couple in Germany decided to move away from their neighborhood after their neighbors complained that they were too loud. The two have lived in a neighborhood in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia for the past six months but got upset after they learnt about the complaints.
34-year-old Mike Dumröse and 25-year-old Natascha Neitzel were both born deaf. Their love for music got them in trouble with their neighbors because they have to feel the vibrations on the wall as the song plays. The neighbors who couldn’t bear the noise any longer started complaining to the landlord.
When the two got to know about the complaints, they decided to move away from the neighborhood. They moved to a local park where they lived in a tent. City officials felt that was unacceptable so they found a hotel room for the two. They eventually found an apartment and they will be moving into the building pretty soon.
When reporters asked them in writing what they expect at their new neighborhood, Neitzel wrote “Love. Luck.”
Interestingly they did not indicate if they will continue with the music that got them out of the old neighborhood or not.
