Pennsylvania, Feb 17 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A woman literally jumped from the frying pan to the fire when her proof of identity to the police turned out to be an evidence against her.

21-year-old Caira Ferguson was arrested when in a bid to prove her identity to the police showed them a picture of herself with a baby duct taped to a chair also appearing in it. The picture show’s Caira laughing as she holds the baby across her arms.

The police estimate that the baby that appeared in the picture was no more than 18 months old. Caira was charged with endangering the welfare of the child.

The police say they are concerning themselves with the welfare of the child. A police chief at Chester, Kenneth J. Coalson told reporters that, “There were some issues with the identity, but our main concern was about the safety of the baby.”

Caira’s home was raided by the police and they found the chair with the tape duct on it. It is believed that she used the tape to keep the baby from disturbing her. The police have subsequently given her additional charges of false imprisonment and unlawful restraint.

Caira had initially run to the police claiming that her identity had been stolen.
