Lecompton, Feb 23 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A woman gave birth in a hospital elevator last Friday. She was surrounded by firefighters as the baby came out in the elevator.

Crystal Leming of Lecompton went to the fire station where she was transported in an ambulance to the Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was surrounded by firefighters and her husband as the ambulance made its way to the hospital. Crystal had planned to deliver her baby at Olathe but she said the contractions were too serious for her to go there.

During an interview Crystal said that, “The firefighters are looking at each other going, ‘Where to go? Left or right when we get out of here? I said, ‘I can feel her head. Please catch the baby!’ and she was born before we ever got off the elevator.”

Crystal and her husband, Patrick, revealed that they had been waiting for four years now to be parents. They were very happy that finally their patience had paid off.

They have named the baby Alyssa Lynn and prefer to call her Ellie. They hope that they would be able to have more babies now that they have Ellie.
