London, July 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) An unusual event took place during the course of a cricket match. Fifty-one year old Jan Marszel, and fifty-two year old Richard Haynes were so pleased to see a strange object falling from the sky that their initial reaction was to clap their hands. The fallen object was a small rock said to be 4.5 billion years old. It split into two as soon as it fell on the ground near to the rugby pitch.

Marszel, who is an IT consultant said that they saw the object approaching them and it split into two pieces with one piece hitting his chest after bouncing the pitch.

The two friends have kept the unusual rock after the incident and said they will happy for it to be examined further. He said that, “We were sitting at the boundary edge when all of a sudden, out of a blue sky, we saw this small dark object hurtling towards us.”

Haynes said they were enjoying their beer and saw the rock approaching them from the sky at the same time when they raised their heads. He believes it was definitely a meteorite.

Dr Matthew Genge of London’s Imperial College said this would be the first to hit the UK in the last 18 years, if it is actually a meteorite.
