Paris, Feb 1 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A 51-year-old French man claims that he was turned into a “compulsive gay sex addict” after taking a Parkinson’s drug. Didier Jambart is subsequently on the verge on suing the manufacturer of the drug for $610,000.

Jambart took GlaxoSmithKline’s drug Requip from 2003 to 2005. During the period he claimed that he developed undesired side effects that included suicidal thoughts and gambling addiction. According to his lawyers, Jambart was raped after he stared exposing himself indecently.

He believes that it was the drug that made him start cross-dressing and engaging in other sexually “risky” behaviors. He also tried suicide three times between the period. His lawyers further claimed that at the peak of his gambling addiction, Jambart used the entire family savings on gambling.

Jambart and his lawyers believe that he was sold a defective drug.

The truth of the matter is that GlaxoSmithKline added a warning to Requip’s label in 2006. The warning says “developed gambling problems or other intense urges or behaviors that were compulsive or unusual for them, such as increased sexual urges or behaviors” are amongst the side effects associated with the drug.
