Lightning Kills Woman Before Boyfriend Could Propose For Marriage

North Carolina, June 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In an unfortunate development in North Carolina a lady was killed by lightning strike just when his boyfriend was about to propose marriage to her.
They were at the peak of Max Patch Bald, a mountain located at the Tennessee border.
At that time lightning struck and Bethany Lott, the 25 year old lady was killed. Her boyfriend was knocked down by the bolt but he survived. The bolt was quite powerful and it hit Richard Butler too. He said that he felt as if his feet were on fire. The couple went for a hiking in spite of the rain and stormy weather.
Richard Butler survived the bolt but suffered third degree burns. After his girlfriend was hit by lightning he could not think it had killed her. Hence he tried to bring her back to her senses assuming she was still alive.
The bolt threw the couple apart and he crawled to her. He could manage to get in his car and ask for help. However, when the rescuers reached the spot it was too late. His girlfriend was lying there lifeless. He was totally devastated as one can understand.
He said later that he wanted to surprise his girlfriend by proposing to her but before he could do so tragedy struck and made them apart for life. When they set out for the summit the weather was not very bad as he said. The loss is unsurpassable for him and now he has to live with her memory.
Lightning strikes are not uncommon in mountainous regions in the USA and they are deadlier than snowstorms.
