las-vegasAug 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Las Vegas, a city where one thought nothing as such was banned, where one can go ahead and enjoy all forbidden fun, now has one ban in progress. As per reports, Las Vegas city authorities are pushing for a ban on hula-hooping in certain areas of the city. The city authorities have claimed that hula-hooping at some of the busy areas of the city is causing obstruction not only to the traffic but also disrupting the normal pedestrian movement. The sport which was promoted last year by First Lady Michele Obama in her White House lawn is on the verge of becoming a forbidden one on some of the crowded places in Las Vegas.

As per reports, the city authorities are trying to ban the sport from being performed at Fremont Street Experience in the city’s downtown area. It is a five-block pedestrian mall which is visited by thousands of people every day. The sport will be banned from being performed at “free expression zone” where “unauthorized” entertainers perform. However, hula-hooping is not the only sport that the ordinance is seeking to ban. As per reports it is also pushing to bring a ban over the use of amplified bullhorns and juggling.

Councilman Stavros Anthony, who is a part of a two-councilman committee that had reviewed the bill this week voted to recommend its further consideration by the full board on Aug 18, said to a media source that the Hula-Hoop in question are not little Hula-Hoops, “They’re big Hula-Hoops” he maintained. The ban as per reports is only a small part of the restrictions that the ordinance is trying to impose to restrict activities in the plaza.
