La Redoute apologises for naked man photo

Paris, Jan 5 (THAINDIAN NEWS) French fashion outlet La Redoute has apologized for publishing an image that inadvertently included a naked man at a beach. The image which was published on the site of the firm has since gone viral but the company says they are “doing what’s necessary to remove it.”

The naked man who is entering the water behind the main image of four children has not been identified yet. Several variants to the image have been made including one which saw the naked man placed on the moon. Another spoof image has the head of former IMF boss Dominique Strauss-Khan superimposed on the body of the man.

La Redoute, one of the renowned French companies, has announced that they have launched an enquiry into the incident to determine how the mishap came about.

It is not everyone who is impressed that La Redoute was not aware of the error. The company provided a zooming tool for viewers to view the background so that they can better appreciate the ocean. Twitter was buzz with suggestions that the company used the incident for publicity.

It is not clear how La Redoute will clear up the images on the Internet considering how widely it has spread.
