jimmy the painting chimp Sep 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A chimpanzee in a Brazilian zoo is in the limelight for his extremely good painting abilities. Scores of visitors who have heard about his unusual talent have been thronging the zoo to catch a glimpse of him.

For 21 days in a row, Jimmy, who is 26 years old has been working on a series of paintings at the Niteroi zoo. Roched Seba who taught the chimp how to paint stated that this particular chimpanzee doesn’t fancy other luxuries, such as toys that many chimpanzees crave for.

Seba therefore decided to help Jimmy escape boredom by teaching him how to paint after he got information that other chimpanzees have successfully undergone the same training.

Jimmy produces great artwork and just like other talented artists, he gets angry often when tons of visitors gather around his cage. During those angry moments, he retires his painting brush. He however paints for at least half an hour every day. There are also reports that the zoo authorities are planning to conduct a painting exhibition consisting solely of Jimmy’s paintings.
