July 7 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A janitor in Newton Massachusetts got the surprise of his life as he was cleaning out the lockers in the town’s high school. As he opened one of the lockers, a three foot snake fell in a lump at his feet, before going into attack mode.

According to reports in ‘The Daily News Tribune’, Ed Reardon was just doing his job as a janitor at the high school, when suddenly he found himself face to face with a three foot python. Upon opening a locker to clean it out, the snake fell at his feet, seemingly asleep.

Reardon told reporters that it was just lying still and his first instinct made him think it was a purse of some sort. Then he began to think maybe it was a rubber snake. That was until it moved.

The python coiled int attack mode quickly, once it became aware that it was no longer sleeping safe and snug in it’s locker home. But Reardon did not panic. He used his knowledge from watching nature shows on television, and grabbed the snake by the back of the head and neck.

As soon as Reardon was off from work at the Newton North High School, he took the python to a pet store in town, where the store attendants stated that it was a ball python. Reardon believes that the snake may have been left there as a prank. A notebook with a student’s name on it was also found in the locker, which Reardon turned in to the principle.
