Bloomington, Ind., Oct 24 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Two identical twins seem to have their destinies interwoven together. How then can it be explained that they had their babies on the same day?

On Wednesday, doctors and nurses at the Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital helped the 21-year-old twins give birth to their babies. Jessica and Jennifer Patterson gave births just hours apart from each other.

Jennifer was the first to give birth to a baby girl. Less than 9 hours later, doctors carried out a caesarian section on Jessica to help her deliver a healthy baby boy. Her sister who spoke to the press said the babies look alike.

The hospital has acknowledged the great odds involved. Spokesperson Amanda Roach told reporters that there is no recent record to suggest that such an incident had happened before.

The sisters live together at Judah in Lawrence County and they say they plan to live together with their children. They are both single mothers.

Jessica said that, “It’s gonna be a crazy house…I hope they grow up really close.”

Jessica explained how the two got to know they are pregnant. She said that, “It just happened… I was like, ‘I’m pregnant.’” Jennifer added, “I found out [I was pregnant] a week later.”
