Handcuffed Man Escapes By Opening Police Car Door

cr22July 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Seminole County Sheriff’s deputies say that a handcuffed prisoner escaped from the back seat of an Altamonte police patrol car last Friday and is still on the run. The Police officials have been searching for him since then and asked the citizens through media that if they find any information about the accused they should inform the Police.

The strange incident happened on Friday night when the 19 years old Ridgh Genesis Achille was arrested for shoplifting a pair of sunglasses from a reputed mall of the city. The Police officials were taking him to the Seminole County Jail. The 19 years old Ridgh Genesis Achille suddenly began complaining that he felt claustrophobic as he was in the backseat of the car. The female police officer took pity on him and rolled down the squad car window, following which the accused opened the doors and escaped!

Ridgh Genesis Achille even being handcuffed was able to get his hands out of the window and then he used his presence of mind to open the car door from outside. Finally he escaped near the intersection of US 17/92 and Orlando Avenue in Sanford. The police immediately set up a perimeter and searched but could not find him. The Orlando Police officers said that they officers, police dogs and even a helicopter were trying to find the suspect on Saturday morning, but could not trace him. The police said that when he is found, he will face additional charge of escaping custody, which is a second degree felony. The Police has reportedly issued warrant against the suspect for burglary.
